Dealing with Vocal Strain: Epilogue

Fess up time.  My last blog entry was actually written in May, right before the kids got out of school and right before we  were scheduled to leave on a whirlwind summer vacation odyssey.  It obviously didn’t get published in a very timely manner.  Sorry about that.  Good thing I’m not working on a deadline!

But here it is, it’s now been three months since I stopped taking the Asmanex.  My allergist gave me a different inhaled steroid to use, one that isn’t supposed to activate until it’s actually in the lungs, and so therefore won’t affect the vocal chords.  But I never used it.  I don’t need it when I travel, which I did six out of nine weeks this summer, and the other three, I just didn’t need it.  The nice thing about summer in Arizona, nothing bothers to bloom when it’s over 100 degrees.

So three months with no steroids.  Three months of not reading into a microphone.  Three months of not stressing about production, editing,  manufacturing, marketing, or anything else.  Three months of just not stressing.  It was wonderful! Not very productive, but wonderful!

Sometime during my second vacation, I realized that my voice was fully, completely, 100% normal.

I’m back!  And with school starting this week, I’m also back to work.

More later on what my next project will be!
